RACKLEY SQUADS - SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE

Pools are opening and Squad training resumes on Saturday the 13th of June!

Squad swimming is a great way to develop lifelong skills, refine technique and most importantly be safe and have fun in the water. Rackley Squad Programs caters for all abilities and the focus is on developing each swimmer to reach their potential and love of the sport. Training sessions will provide swimmers with the skills and stamina needed to set their sights on competing at their chosen level be it Local, School, Masters or National level.

OUR COACHES

At Rackley Colmslie Coaches Zane King and Rebecca King bring years of experience as coaches and Olympians to the swimmers.  They are both passionate about swimming as a way of life. We cater our programs to Swimmers at all levels and abilities with a focus on long term success, achievement and enjoyment.

The Colmslie Aquatic Centre has a 50m outdoor pool and state of the art Gym.  

JOIN THE CLUB!

At Rackley Colmslie we encourage Squad swimmers to join the swim club (Rackley Swim Team) which enables swimmers to swim at our regular swim club nights during the summer season as well as competing at local, Brisbane, Queensland and National Swim meets. Adult swimmers can join the Rackley Masters swim team.

Squads for all levels


Junior Squad
Junior Squad is our beginner squad and swim for 1 hour and is intended as the transition from Learn to Swim to Squad swimming. At this level the squad focuses on developing stroke technique and skills while also introducing small amounts of endurance. *Equipment required – flippers.
Bronze Squad
Bronze squad is the entry group into our performance focused squads. Building upon the fundamental swimming skills and develop your child’s ability to learn how to train and help them develop a growth mindset and develop a love for the sport. Individual swimmers will be introduced to a variety of racing opportunities as they continue to master the four competitive strokes and gain greater proficiency in turns, starts and finishes. This is achieved by introducing more advanced drills and training techniques.

*Equipment required – flippers, paddles, pull buoy & kickboard.
Silver Squad
Silver Squad is our junior performance squad for students who wish to race at all level competitions. At this level students are fine tuning their skills and improving their race fitness, endurance, speed and skills ready for competition. Recommended minimum 4 sessions per week. (age 10-14)

*Equipment required – flippers, paddles, pull buoy, kickboard & snorkel.
Gold Squad
The Gold Squad is our senior performance squad for students who wish to race and compete at all level competitions. At this level students are fine tuning their skills and improving their race fitness, endurance, speed and skills ready for competition.

Recommended minimum 6 sessions per week. (age 13+).
*Equipment required – flippers, paddles, pull buoy, kickboard & snorkel.
Adult/ Swimfit+
Our SwimFit+ sessions are designed to improve performance and technique. SwimFit+ sessions are tailored to the goals of the SwimFit+ members. Longer sessions, lower lane density and experienced Rackley Coaches will help you reach your swimming goal. This level is for those who are looking to improve their swimming technique and fitness. It is suitable for a wide variety of people, from beginners through to competitive swimmers training for Masters, Triathlon and/or Ocean swimming.

Note*

The monthly rates are calculated based on a annual amount and take into account variances for swimmers who will not attend during Squad Break/family holiday periods. If your swimmer is having a break from squad of more that 4 weeks please contact the centre manager to discuss putting membership on hold during the break.







Our Coaches

Zane King
Head Coach
Zane has been the head coach of Colmslie pool since 2011, coaching silver and gold squads, as well as overseeing all other squads and coaching staff. Zane was a Member of the Australian Swim Team from 1995 to 2000. During this time he held an Australian Institute of Sport Scholarship.Zane currently holds a Silver Coaching License and has and continues to coach multiple State and National medal winners and champions. He has also been selected to coach on multiple State and National swim teams.

Bec King
JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT COACH
Bec is the Junior Development Coach at Colmslie working with competitive swimmers aged 10-14 years. Bec has recently taken on a career in coaching after 15 years in aquatic centre customer service and management.As a swimmer Bec (aka Rebecca Brown) was a Member of Australian Swim Team for 8 years (1992-2000).  During this time she achieved much success including being the World Record Holder for 200m Breaststroke 1994-1999 and World Short Course Champion in 2000.  She achieved 2 Silver Medals in the 1994 Commonwealth Games 1994 and represented Australia in the 2000 Sydney Olympics.  Her motivation to start coaching is to use her swimming knowledge to help and develop younger swimmers.
